Privacy Policy
Untether · Effective date: 2026-02-26
Untether is a Pomodoro timer app for Android. This policy explains how the app handles your data — or rather, why it doesn't need to.
No data collection
Untether does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
Local storage only
Your settings (timer durations, sound preferences, etc.) are saved locally on your device using an on-device database. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
No internet connection
Untether does not require or use an internet connection. It works fully offline.
Permissions used
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE — keeps the timer running accurately while the screen is off or you are using another app.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — shows the timer status in the notification bar and an alarm notification when a session ends.
- VIBRATE — vibrates the device when a session ends (if enabled in settings).
- WAKE_LOCK — wakes the screen when a session ends so you don't miss the alarm.
- USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT — allows the alarm notification to appear over the lock screen.
None of these permissions are used to collect or share any data.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Changes only occur if new features require it.
